CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL
Cough, cough, sniff, sniff ...... the onset of winter is upon us.
The only downside to my favourite season = the germs in the air.
I love this time of year for so many reasons;
> warm skinny chino's every 2 hours
(I know it's a bad habbit but they taste so good)
> knee-high boots
> colourful scarves and of course
> snuggling up to my super man with a big doona
Just when my body had finally recovered from the kilo's of chocolate consumed over Easter, I could feel my throat drying out and before I knew it, my body was taken over by the ugly flu monster. He had both hands around my throat and wouldn't let go; sniffles, coughs, aches and pains ............eeeekkkk. I am hoping I destroyed the flue monster's evil powers with a dose of my nana's famous chicken soup. It always makes me feel better. Fingers crossed the record remains untarnished.

this one goes out to the folks
MUM & DAD
My parents are two of the most beautiful people I know. It seams only fitting that during my first month of official blogging I dedicate a post to them. This amazing pair = more than any child could wish for. They are talented, caring, inspirational, giving, friendly, thoughtful and the list goes on. Although they live in Hong Kong and I live in Australia, they still manage to be there for me every step of the way.
My mum has recently caught the stamping and paper craft bug. She lives, breathes and sleeps her new hobby. I am sure you can all relate in some kind of crafty way. She has all sorts of stamping goodies oozing from her cupboards, in boxes, draws and under the bed. Alphabetised and colour coordinated of course. One of her latest creations is a gorgeous card she put together for her sister’s birthday. She even made a little bag to slip the card into.
During the first 6 years of my life, mum and dad raised my brother and I in Warwick; a small country town in Queensland, Australia. We had the whole country thing happening. Our seats were made of hay bales, our pets were cows, chooks, sheep dogs and of course the occasional snake would always slip under the fence.
For Dad, the saying remains …..“You can take the man out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the man”.
Staying true to Aussie form, dad could not possibly survive in Hong Kong without a BBQ. Balconies in Hong Kong are as rare as vintage broaches and a BBQ doesn’t exactly match mum’s living décor i.e. sued leather lounge. Dad was a man on a mission searching for apartments with balconies and BBQ’s tiny enough to fit on them.
Mission accomplished - This is a pic of dad cooking on his “Baby Q”. It is such a cute little toy. It was delivered from Australia. I was there when it arrived; he was like a little boy on Christmas day. He is already starting to accessories with grill plates etc. In a way I understand his crazy BBQ hobby, cigar collections and daily wine and cheese indulgences. The only difference is my collections and cravings are a touch different.

button of the month
As an avid reader of blogs dedicated to craftiness, I feel the time has come to start my very own. Over the last year I have been constantly inspired by the handful of blogs I religiously read. I have placed a few of these blogs on the links to the right so you too can be inspired by what these amazing women are sewing, baking, knitting, stitching, stamping, creating and the list goes on. I have found myself constantly amused and inspired with the information I have found. The blogging craft network out there is huge. One blogger I have been following sums it up perfectly;
"A concise compendium of craftiness" Mamie Makes (see links)
So thank you mentor bloggers for opening a door to an amazing world.
I hope I can return the favour.
